Reliable for annual classbooks

This is our third year using Studio Untold for our classbook. I've always gone with the Softcover Classbook, and they've been consistently reliable. The process for submitting the stories and illustrations is the same, so it's easy to get everything ready. This time, I also tried out the Personalized Author Pages, which added a nice touch for the kids. Delivery was on time, just like previous years. It's why I keep coming back; no surprises, which is what you want for a classroom project.

Great value on digital book

I was looking for an affordable way to get my students' work published and found their Free publishing kit offer. We ended up getting a Digital Classbook. I appreciated the free resources, and the overall cost felt like good value for what we received. Definitely worth it for budget-conscious teachers.

Fun for the kids

My second graders did the Classbook Program. It was pretty easy to get started with the free kit. The kids loved seeing their stories turn into a real book. It came pretty fast after we sent everything in. Overall, a good experience.

Good program, minor shipping delay

I used the Classbook Program for my third-grade class and it was a pretty smooth experience overall. The Teacher Guides were helpful and the students loved seeing their stories in print. The only issue was that the Replacement Kit Materials took about 8 days to arrive, which was a little longer than I expected for something I needed to replace quickly. But the final product, a Softcover Classbook, looked great.

Easy process, quality result

I ordered a Publish at Home Kit for my son's project last month. The ordering process was straightforward on their website. The kit arrived in about 5 business days, well-packaged. Inside were clear instructions, Writing Tips for the Perfect Book, and even some Illustration Guides. My son used the Storyboards to plan his book, which was a nice touch. When we sent it back for publishing, the turnaround for the Hardcover Classbook was about 3 weeks, just as they stated. The quality of the book was really good for the price; the pages felt durable and the colors were vibrant. Customer service was responsive when I had a question about the submission portal, getting back to me within a day. It made the whole experience stress-free.

Is the 'free publishing kit' actually free, or are there hidden fees later on?

S Susan T. 2 weeks ago
Totally free, you just pay if you want to order extra copies of the book or get the hardcover upgrade. The basic kit and publishing one copy per student is no charge.

Yeah, it's legit free. They send you all the materials and then you get one softcover book for each kid. No catch.

Does anyone know if they offer programs for homeschool groups? Or is it strictly for traditional schools?

J Josh Moore 1 month ago
I'm pretty sure they do! I saw something about homeschooling options on their site or in an email once. Worth checking out.

Yes, they do! It's not just for big schools. I know a few homeschool co-ops that have used them successfully.

Anyone know if you can stack coupon codes? Like if I have a percentage off something and then a free shipping code, can I use both?

L Leah J. 2 weeks ago
Nah, usually only one coupon works per order. I tried it once with a back-to-school deal and a free shipping one, but it only took one.

My understanding is no, most places don't let you combine discounts like that. You gotta pick the best one for your order.

I'm thinking about doing a book with my students but also looking at Lulu Junior. Any thoughts on how Studentreasures compares to them?

K Kyle Taylor 2 days ago
Studentreasures is great because it's genuinely free for the basic classbook, which Lulu Junior usually charges for. Lulu Junior might have more customization for individual books though.

I've used both. Studentreasures is way easier for a whole class project where each kid gets a book for free. Lulu Junior feels more geared towards individual authors buying multiple copies, if that makes sense.

My class is kinda small, only 12 kids. Is there a minimum number of students needed to do a classbook?

A Aaron Hernandez 4 days ago
Nope, no minimum! My friend did one with her small homeschool group of 8 kids last year. They don't have a requirement.

You're good! They don't have a minimum student count for the classbooks, which is nice for smaller classes.
